Digital Delk, New Delhi. BSNL MNP Process: Recently, telecom companies Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have increased their tariff plans. In such a situation, many customers are considering switching to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), which has not yet increased the recharge plans.
If you are thinking of porting your SIM connection to BSNL then this news is useful for you. Today we will tell you how to port BSNL mobile number.
Get Unique Porting Code
First of all, open the message app on your mobile. Type your 10 digit mobile number. Send this message to 1900. You will receive a Unique Porting Code (UPC). If you are a prepaid customer in Jammu and Kashmir, then instead of sending a text message, you have to call 1900.
The unique porting code is valid for 15 days. However, for customers in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and select parts of the North East, the UPC is valid for 30 days. Before porting the SIM, make sure that you do not have any dues with your existing telecom.
Visit BSNL Customer Care Centre
Once you have the unique porting code, visit the nearest BSNL customer service centre or retailer to request a SIM port. At the service centre, you need to fill up the customer application form. Submit a valid photo ID and the UPC received from the current operator. Then pay the porting fee. However, BSNL said that currently they are not charging any fee for porting.
Complete the porting process
After submitting the required documents and forms, you will get a new BSNL SIM card. You will receive a message informing you when your old SIM will be inactive and when the new SIM will be activated.
