Gopal Rai : To speed up development work in villages, the government organized a “Vikas Sabha” in Nangloi Jat Vidhan Sabha on Friday under the leadership of Delhi's Environment and Development Minister Gopal Rai. On this occasion, Gopal Rai said that the government is committed to providing all facilities to the people living in rural areas. He further said that development work is being done in the villages of Nangloi Jat with Rs 13 crore. The government has kept a budget of Rs 900 crore for the development related works of Delhi's villages.
On this occasion, Nangloi Jat MLA Raghuvinder Shaukeen and officials of Irrigation and Flood Control Department and Forest Department were present. Development Minister Gopal Rai said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had constituted Delhi Gram Vikas Board to ensure development in the villages of Delhi.
This year, the government has set a budget of Rs 900 crore for the development of Delhi's villages. Under this, work is being done to provide better amenities in all the villages of Delhi.
It was told that under this, development works related to roads, drains, water bodies, community centers, parks, crematoriums, playgrounds etc. are being done. He told that development work is being done in the villages of Nangloi Jat Vidhan Sabha with Rs 13 crore. To promote green areas in Delhi, a campaign of tree plantation and distribution of saplings has been started from July 11. Under this, saplings were distributed among the people during the “Vikas Sabha” in Nangloi Jat Vidhan Sabha today.
He informed that this year more than 7 lakh 74 thousand plants will be distributed free of cost. He further informed that under the tree plantation campaign, a target of planting/distributing more than 64 lakh plants has been set this year. Which will be accomplished with the cooperation of all green agencies. During the tree plantation campaign, the work of distributing medicinal plants free of cost has been started. Medicinal plants are being distributed free of cost from the government nurseries of Delhi so that people can participate in promoting the green area of Delhi by planting trees in their homes.
The Environment Minister said that we had given an important guarantee to the people of Delhi at the time of elections, in which we had set a target of planting two crore trees in 5 years to improve the environment of Delhi. The government has achieved the target of planting almost 2 crore trees in the fourth year of its tenure. This target has been achieved by the green agencies of all the 21 concerned departments.
