Bangladesh is burning in the fire of violence over the demand to cancel reservation in government jobs. Internet and mobile services were shut down in Bangladesh on Friday after violent protests. According to local media reports, at least 28 people have been killed this week. Amidst the violence in Bangladesh, the Maitree Express running from Kolkata to Dhaka has been canceled. No train is running in the capital Dhaka. The whole of Bangladesh is running in the fire of violence and protests. India is keeping an eye on the violence happening in the neighboring country.
On Friday, India's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal commented on the ongoing violence in Bangladesh. He said that as you know, protests are going on in Bangladesh. About 8500 students and about 15,000 Indian citizens live in our country. We have issued travel advisory to people to stay in touch with the High Commission and provide them necessary assistance.
