School holidays : There is a relief news for school students. Schools have opened in Jammu from today i.e. Friday, July 18, while many schools have been closed due to heavy rains in Karnataka and Kerala. Apart from this, in the months of July and August, schools will remain closed on second, fourth Saturday and Sunday as well as due to many festivals.

Dr Vidya Kumari, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Karnataka has declared a holiday for all schools and PU colleges across the district on Friday, July 19, due to widespread rainfall. All Anganwadis, primary schools, high schools and pre-university colleges (up to Class 12) will remain closed on July 19. However, engineering colleges, diploma colleges, ITIs and postgraduate courses will operate as usual.
Due to heavy rains in Kannur, Wayanad, Kasaragod, Kozhikode and Palakkad in Kerala, all schools will be closed on Friday, July 19. Public and university examinations in Kannur, Wayanad and Palakkad will be held as scheduled.

27th July is the fourth Saturday, so schools will remain closed in many states. Schools will remain closed on 21st and 28th as it is Sunday. Apart from this, schools will remain closed on 04th, 11th, 18th and 25th August as it is Sunday.
07 August Hariyali Teej, 10 August second Saturday, 15 August Independence Day, 16 August (Friday) compensatory declared holiday, 19 August, (Monday) Rakshabandhan, 26 August: (Monday) Janmashtami holiday.
