Kamika Ekadashi 2024 date

The fast of Kamika Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Savan. According to the Vedic calendar, this time the Ekadashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of Savan will start on July 30 at 4:44 pm.

The fasting time will end on July 31 at 3.55 pm. Kamika Ekadashi fast will be observed on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, as per the Udaya Tithi.

Why is Kamika Ekadashi fast observed?

According to mythological beliefs, by observing the fast of Kamika Ekadashi, all the sins of the devotees are destroyed and they attain salvation.
The importance of this fast increases even more due to it falling in the month of Saavan. This is the first Ekadashi after Devshayani Ekadashi in which Lord Vishnu is in Yog Nidra.

Due to Ekadashi falling in the month of Sawan, this fast gives blessings of Lord Vishnu as well as Lord Shiva.

Do this work on the day of Kamika Ekadashi

– One day before Kamika Ekadashi fast, a person should stop eating rice.
– On the day of Kamika Ekadashi, one should wake up before sunrise and take a bath in the Ganga.
– If for some reason you are not able to take a bath in the Ganga river, then take a bath at home by mixing some Ganga water in the bathing water.
– After this, sit on a yellow seat for worship. After anointing Shri Hari with Gangajal, dress him in yellow clothes.
