A video has gone viral which allegedly shows Urvashi Rautela in a bathroom changing her clothes.
In the clip, a woman purported to be Urvashi enters a bathroom and begins undressing.
She also hangs up a towel and checks her hair.
The video has divided opinions about its authenticity.
Some netizens voiced their doubts as to whether the clip was a deepfake video.
Her face appeared unnatural and her features were distorted which created questions.
One user commented: “If it was a PR move, it’s a bad one from Urvashi Rautela and the advisors.”
In recent months, Bollywood stars have fallen prey to deepfake material.
Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh all found themselves at the centre of such clips.
Following Urvashi Rautela’s clip, another video containing an alleged conversation between Urvashi and her manager went viral.
The voices were discussing the leak of the clip showing the star in the bathroom.
Urvashi Rautela apparently asks her manager whether he has seen the video.
The manager replied: “Yes, I did see and the team is trying to get it down from the internet.”
Urvashi then said: “I just don’t understand how are these things going out.
“I need to get on a call with them immediately.”
The manager agreed: “Yes, Urvashi, I know – it’s a very sad situation but let us not talk over the phone.
“Let us keep this on hold and discuss when you are back on July 19.”
Urvashi Rautela appeared to question this decision and the manager replied:
“No one is clear about what is happening. I will speak to you in person once you land.”
Deepfakes began ravaging Bollywood in 2023 when a clip purported to show Rashmika Mandanna emerged online.
The video showed a woman coming out of a lift but her face had been morphed to show Rashmika.
Following the leak, the Animal actress said:
“Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well-wishers who are my protection and support system.
“We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft.”
Urging women to speak up, Rashmika added: “I want to tell all girls out there that this is not normal.
“When something is affecting you, you don’t have to keep quiet.”
Urvashi has yet to make a formal comment on the clip.
On the work front, Urvashi Rautela was last seen in Jahangir National University (2024).
