Shamli. The police had an encounter with the criminals wanted in the robbery case on Chausana-Garhihasanpur road of the district. During the encounter, heavy firing took place in which two criminals and a policeman got injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. According to the officials, three other criminals escaped during the encounter, whose search is on.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shamli Santosh Kumar said that on July 10, a robbery took place at the house of villager Balvinder in Sundarnagar village of Chausana area. The miscreants beat up the people present in the house, held them hostage at gunpoint and looted cash and jewellery and fled from the spot. Seven police teams were engaged at the district level to solve this case.
ASP said that police had received a specific information that the criminals involved in the robbery were planning to commit another crime. Police started the siege and searched for the criminals and meanwhile an encounter took place between police and criminals in the forest of Chausana-Garhihasanpur of Jhinjhana police station area. According to the officials, three criminals have escaped in the encounter, while Simranjeet, a resident of village Bibipur of Kairana area and Anas, a resident of Akbarpur Sunheti, along with a policeman have been shot, who have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
Goods recovered from miscreants
ASP Santosh Kumar reached the spot and informed that the looted goods have also been recovered from the possession of the arrested criminals involved in the robbery incident, however, the police has not yet given detailed information about the recovered goods. The treatment of the two injured criminals is going on in the district hospital under police supervision.
