Defending champion Indian women's team will take on its biggest rival Pakistan in the first match of the Asia Cup on Friday. This tournament is considered very important for the preparation of the Women's T20 World Cup to be held in October. The Indian team led by Harmanpreet has dominated the Asia Cup.
India has won the Asia Cup T20 title three out of four times and the 50-over format of the Asia Cup all four times. In the Women's Asia Cup T20 tournament, India has won 17 out of 20 matches. It defeated Bangladesh in the 2022 final.
India has won 11 out of 14 matches against Pakistan in this tournament. Earlier this month, India drew the T20 series with South Africa 1-1.
