Muzaffarnagar. Kanwar Yatra is going to start from 22nd July. There is a controversy over putting up the board of the proprietor of hotels and dhabas situated on the Kanwar route. After this order of the police-administration, employees of a particular community are being removed from hotels and dhabas. Now the dhaba owner has said that this is wrong.
Four Muslim employees have been removed from 'Sakshi Dhaba' located on NH-58 bypass in Muzaffarnagar district. Dhaba owner Lokesh informed the media about this on Friday. He said, “People from the administration came to my Dhaba and instructed to put a board with the name of the proprietor outside the Dhaba.” “Four Muslim youths were working at our Dhaba, one of whom was from Bihar. Out of the four employees, two were artisans, one was at the tea stall and one was in the canteen. They were removed from work on the orders of the administration.”
Dhaba owner Lokesh further said, “It is the administration's own understanding to put up a board with the name of the proprietor outside hotels and dhabas. It is the Kanwar pilgrims' choice as to which hotel or dhaba they will eat at, but it is wrong to remove Muslim people from work. I am worried about them. Now they have become unemployed. In such a situation, if those youths sit at home, how will their food be arranged?” At the same time, leaders of political parties are also opposing this.
AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that “Disclosing one's religious identity outside places like Dhaba and Hotel is a violation of Article 17 (untouchability), Article 21 (right to live) and Article 19 (right to livelihood) of the Constitution. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is promoting untouchability.”
