There has been a ruckus in Bangladesh for the last few days regarding reservation, due to which an advisory was issued to Indians living there to stay inside their homes. After which more than 300 people stranded in Bangladesh have been evacuated from there. Officials informed on Thursday that more than 300 people stranded in Bangladesh have reached Meghalaya, which includes Indians, Nepalese and Bhutanese citizens. Most of them are students.
Recently, students in Bangladesh protested demanding reforms in the reservation system for government jobs. Due to which violence broke out in the capital Dhaka and other places. At least 18 more people died in this violence on Thursday and more than 2,500 people were injured. With this, the death toll has now reached 25 since the protests began.
How many Indians reached Meghalaya
A senior Home Ministry official said, '310 Indians, Nepalese and Bhutanese citizens stranded in Bangladesh due to violence have reached India through the Dawki Integrated Check Post here. Officials informed that out of the 310 people who have been evacuated, 202 are Indians, 101 are Nepalese and 7 are from Bhutan. He said that most of the people who have been brought back to India are students. After the violence spread in Bangladesh, the Meghalaya government and the Assam government are in constant touch with the Bangladesh High Commission and the Ministry of External Affairs for the safe return of Indians.

Violence is increasing day by day due to the protests in Dhaka. Paramilitary forces have been deployed on the streets. Also, people have been asked to stay indoors. Along with this, bus services in Dhaka also remained closed. Along with this, to stop this chaos and find a solution, Law Minister Anisul Haque said that the government has decided to hold a meeting for talks with the protesting students.
