New Delhi: Sushmita Sen, who is enjoying the success of the third season of her web series ‘Arya’, recently talked about the rumors linking her with businessman Lalit Modi and whether she is going to marry him.

The former Miss Universe revealed in an interview with Mid-Day that her brief relationship with Lalit Modi was ‘just another phase’, but she was surprised by how people took pictures of her.

When the actress was asked if she ever planned to marry Lalit Modi, she said, ‘If she was going to marry anyone, she would marry him only.’ “Either she does it or she doesn’t,” he said.

The actress said that although she never officially shared her relationship status with Lalit Modi, she shared a post on Instagram clarifying that she is not married. She also gave a befitting reply to those who called her a gold-digger for dating a businessman. “I just put up a post on Instagram because sometimes I feel like when people stay quiet, their silence is taken as weakness or fear. I just needed to put up a post to let them know I was laughing. After that, my work is finished.”

Earlier in 2022, Lalit Modi had shared a series of romantic pictures with Sushmita on X (formerly Twitter), announcing that they were together. He had posted a tweet declaring Sushmita as his ‘better half’, but in another tweet clarified that they are not married but dating.

However, after much uproar, Sushmita issued a clarification on Instagram that she did not have a ring on her finger yet.

Sushmita was recently seen rekindling her romance with ex-boyfriend and model Rohman Shawl. The two were seen holding each other’s hands at a recently held Diwali party, indicating that romance has rekindled between them.

Talking about Lalit Modi, the former IPL chairman left India in 2010 amid a probe into tax evasion and money-laundering linked to his venture. Since then he is in London.
