BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover’s troubles are mounting. A fintech unicorn at Rs. Delhi Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has summoned Grover in the alleged Rs 81 crore fraud case. The EOW has also summoned his wife Madhuri Jain for questioning. According to information, the couple has been asked to appear at the EOW’s Mandir Marg office on November 21.
Official sources say that this action is being taken on the basis of Bharatpay’s complaint. The action comes after Grover posted a post on X some time ago claiming that he was stopped at the Delhi airport on Thursday when he and his wife were on their way to New York for a holiday. The branch officer has confirmed the summons.

He said they were stopped after a lookout circular was issued against the couple. The Economic Offenses Wing had in May booked Grover, Madhuri Jain and their family members Deepak Gupta, Suresh Jain and Shwetank Jain for Rs. 81 crore was filed in the alleged case. Bharatap has alleged that Grover and his family through illegal payments to consultants, price gouging and improper payments by vendors, fraudulent transactions in tax credits and payment of fines amounting to around Rs. 81.30 crores has been lost.
