There is good news for people going from Delhi to Jaipur. Now the journey between the two cities will be completed in just 2 hours. Currently the journey of about 300 km is completed in about 6 hours, but soon this journey will reduce to just 2 hours. This will not only save time, but the cost of travel will also reduce by about 30 percent. Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information while addressing an election rally in Rajasthan. In his speech, he mentioned the Electric Cable Highway, under which 5 electric buses will soon be run between Delhi and Jaipur. He also talked about abolishing toll booths and starting satellite based toll.
What does Nitin Gadkari say about e-highway?
Referring to the new project in his speech, Gadkari said that when we said that the journey from Delhi to Meerut would be completed in 45 minutes, the journalists laughed. Today the same people tell me that they come from Meerut to Delhi to eat ice cream. Now I want to feed Delhi ice cream to the people of Jaipur and Kachori of Jaipur to the people of Delhi. This was possible only because the people of the country gave full majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party. In Rajasthan we are building 2 green field highways at a cost of Rs 41 thousand crores. Work is also going on on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, which is targeted to be completed by January 2024. An expressway is being built between Amritsar and Jamnagar, which will connect the 3 refineries. Ambala-Kotputli Highway is being constructed.
Currently 3 road projects are being constructed in Rajasthan
Gadkari said that the Green Field Ring Road project in Rajasthan was started during the time of Vasundhara Raje. This road was built by 2020 at a cost of Rs 1261 crore. The 46 km long 6 lane road will be completed by December 2023 at a cost of Rs 2500 crore. Ring road will be built from Delhi-Agra bypass to Achrol-Chaumun. Jaipur-Delhi National Highway will be upgraded up to Kishangarh. A budget of Rs 1100 crore has been released for this. The work is targeted to be completed by August 2024. An elevated road is being constructed in Alwar, which will go from Sariska Tiger Reserve to Thanagaji. A 23 kilometer long 2 lane road is being built at a cost of Rs 2000 crore, which will be completed by December. BJP’s Modi government will continue to give such projects to Rajasthan in future also.
What is the Electric Highway and how does it work?
Electric vehicles will run on electric highways. In countries like Germany and Sweden, electric lanes are built along every highway. Now this lane is being built in India, which will be the country’s first electric lane. Under this, electric wires have been installed above or below the highway, with the help of which buses will be run on the highway. The batteries of electric buses or electric vehicles have to be charged frequently, but this will not happen with buses running on electric highways, because they will have a direct connection with the electric wires. Till now this technology is being used by Indian Railways. Today only electric wires are used to run trains.
