Now the problems of those doing business in the name of ‘Halal’ are going to increase in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to tighten the noose by banning the sale of ‘Halal’ certified products. The government is now also considering making a strict law regarding ‘Halal’ certificate. It is worth noting that goods ranging from food items to cosmetics are sold in the market illegally after giving ‘Halal’ certificate. Many companies are involved in this illegal business. Through this, an attempt is made to mislead consumers of a particular religion.
Uttar Pradesh government took cognizance
A complaint has been lodged regarding illegal issuance of ‘Halal’ certificate under the guise of religion. It says that people of a particular religion are encouraged to buy the product. The illegal income earned from this is likely to be spent in the wrong place. It has been said in the complaint that there is a possibility of funding of terrorist organizations and anti-national activities from this illegal earning. Through this, attempts are also made to spread religious hatred.
After receiving the complaint, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken cognizance. According to information received from official sources, the government has now decided to adopt a strict attitude in this matter.
FIR lodged in this matter in Lucknow Commissionerate
An FIR has also been registered in Lucknow Commissionerate in connection with illegally giving ‘Halal’ certificate to the products. Halal India Private Limited Chennai, Jamiat Ulema Hind Halal Trust Delhi, Halal Council of India Mumbai, Jamiat Ulema Maharashtra Mumbai are named in the FIR. They have been accused of running an illegal business to increase the sales of some products by providing Halal certificates to customers of a particular religion in the name of religion.
It has been said in the FIR that these companies have no right to give certification to any product. Despite this, these companies issue Halal certificates to various companies taking financial benefits. This not only increases social hatred but also betrays public trust.
Expressed suspicion of a big conspiracy
The complainant in his FIR has expressed apprehension of a big conspiracy in the matter of issuing ‘Halal’ certificate. He says that efforts are also being made to reduce the sales of those companies which have not obtained such Halal certificate. This is a criminal act. There is a fear that this illegal earning is being channeled to anti-social and anti-national elements.
The special thing is that Halal certificate is also being given for the sale of vegetarian products like oil, soap, toothpaste, honey etc., whereas no such certificate is required for vegetarian items.
The complainant alleges that under the guise of religion, unrestrained propaganda is being carried out among a particular section of the society. They are being asked not to use any product which has not been given Halal certificate by their company.
Because of this, special business interests of other communities are being harmed. It has been said in the complaint that a conspiracy is being hatched by the above companies not only for economic gain but also to spread class hatred in the society and through this to weaken the country.
