Rajmohan Unnithan, Indian Member of Parliament (MP) from Kerala, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal who committed genocide in Palestine and it is time for him to be shot dead without trial. He said Hamas, the Islamic resistance movement that rules the Gaza Strip, has taken up arms to defend its land, people and lives. Congress party leader Unnithan said that he is not a terrorist. If anyone portrays Hamas as terrorists, it is time to give a strong reaction.
Unnithan was speaking at a Palestine solidarity rally and prayer meeting organized by Kasaragod United Muslim Jamaat-Ath, a group of mosques in and around Kasaragod city, on Friday. He said America killed one million Arabs or Muslims in Iraq, it killed seven lakh Muslims in Afghanistan, it killed innocents in Korea and Vietnam. But America’s lust for war has not yet been satisfied, Unnithan said on the grounds near Malik Dinar Mosque, India’s second oldest mosque in Kasaragod. This is what we are seeing in Palestine.
He said that those who kill lakhs of people are patriots, but those who kill anyone to protect their land are extremists. Unnithan said that if they (Hamas) are extremists, then every one of us is with the extremists. India’s position on Palestine was made clear by Mahatma Gandhi before independence. Unnithan said that in 1938, Mahatma Gandhi had written in Harijan magazine that just as America is for the Americans, England is for the British and France is for the French, Palestine is for the Palestinians.
