Such are the preparations regarding Jama Masjid
The Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC) has approved the appointment of a new consultant architect for the reconstruction of the 300-year-old Jama Masjid and its surroundings. Now on the instructions of SRDC, PWD department will get the redevelopment work done.
The project will gain momentum
Earlier in 2018, the then Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal had directed the corporation, which is the nodal agency on the redevelopment of the Walled City, to expedite the project.
the biggest problem
A big problem in Old Delhi area is hanging electrical wires. PWD will do the work of undergrounding telecom cables, electricity cables and high tension lines. According to the current plan, PWD will do the restoration work of the tombs of Sheikh Kalimullah, Ubre Shah, General Shah, Nawaz Khan in the area around the main mosque. Besides, Meena Bazaar will also be renovated.
