Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh has said that the Central Government is organizing Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra from 15 November to 26 January 2024 with the aim of increasing awareness through public contact activities to achieve the completeness of the schemes.
He informed that the Land Resources Department has planned to distribute felicitation letters to eligible villages and honor Gram Panchayats under the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The Digital India Land Records Modernization Program aims to develop a modern, comprehensive and transparent land records management system. In the first phase of Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, congratulatory letters are being provided to the Gram Panchayats of tribal districts.
He said that the Central Sector Scheme of the Central Government is being implemented by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR) with one hundred percent funding through the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP). Digital India Land Records Modernization Program aims to develop a modern, comprehensive and transparent land records management system. Considerable progress has been made in land related matters through the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme.
The Department of Land Resources has introduced grading process among the districts as a step towards healthy competition and monitoring among the districts. Platinum grading is being awarded to those districts which have completed 99 per cent and above work in the six basic components by October 26. According to data provided by states and union territories, 157 districts in 14 states have completed 99 percent and above work in the basic six components.
In which computerization of land records, digitization of cadastral maps/FMB, linking of ROR with cadastral maps, computerization of registration, integration of registration with land records and modern record room are the major components. Implementation of these six components will facilitate improved access to real-time information on the ground. Optimum utilization of land resources will benefit both landowners and prospectors and assist in policy and planning.
This will facilitate reducing land disputes, check fraud and benami transactions, eliminate the need for physical visits to revenue and registration offices and enable sharing of information with various organizations and agencies. The government is organizing Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra from 15th November to 26th January to raise awareness through public relations activities to achieve completeness of the schemes.
This will require concerted efforts across the board as well as active public participation. So that it can be ensured that the benefits of the schemes can be effectively extended to every individual and the most vulnerable people of the country. The objective of Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to reach out to the underprivileged people who are eligible under various schemes but have not yet been able to avail the benefits of the scheme. To disseminate information and create awareness among them regarding the schemes.
Learning from citizens – There will be interactions with beneficiaries of government schemes through sharing of personal stories and experiences. Potential beneficiaries will be enrolled. Under the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the Land Resources Department distributed congratulatory letters and certificates to eligible villages and honored the villages for achieving 99 percent or more success in completing the work of digitization of land records as per the program of Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
