
New Delhi, 17 November (Tezzbuzz). On Friday, the last day of the week, the stock market closed in the red amid volatile trading. Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex fell 187.75 points to close at 65,794.73. Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed at 19,731.80 with a decline of 33.40 points or 0.17 percent.
Out of 30 Sensex shares, 20 shares declined, while 10 shares saw a rise. During trading, the effect of new guidelines of RBI was visible and there was pressure on the stock market due to selling in banking shares. Similarly, in Nifty, shares of State Bank of India and Axis Bank closed with a decline of three percent each.
A day earlier on Thursday, Sensex had closed at 65,982.48 with a rise of 306.55 points or 0.47 percent and Nifty had closed at 19,765.20 with a gain of 89.75 points or 0.46 percent.
