The earthquake struck Mindanao island on Friday afternoon at a depth of 60 kilometers (37 miles), according to the German Research Center for Geosciences. At least two people died near the epicenter, three in South Cotabato province and one in Sarangani province. Rescue workers are searching for two other people missing after the landslide. A 78-year-old man died after being crushed by a rock in Davao Occidental province.
