Varanasi. The security arrangements of Kashi Hindu University campus will now be handed over to retired army officers. After the incident with the IIT BHU student, the university administration has prepared a blueprint for changes in the security system. Five retired commissioned officers and five retired junior commissioned officers will be deployed in BHU.
The incident happened with the IIT BHU student at 1.30 am on November 1. Three youths made videos by taking off their clothes and doing obscene acts. Later the police also added the section of gang rape in this case. After this the IIT students launched a massive agitation. After this, a new strategy was prepared regarding the security arrangements of the campus. After brainstorming, BHU and district administration officials made a plan to deploy retired army officers for the security of the campus.
For the appointment of retired army officers, information has been released on the BHU website and online applications have been invited till 25th November. These recruitments will be under the Institute of Animals Scheme. For this, there is a compulsion to provide full time service for one year. It can be increased on the basis of mutual agreement. Appointment will be made after interview on the basis of qualification and experience. The pay scale has been fixed from Rs 60 thousand to Rs 1.80 lakh per month. They will be provided medical and other facilities on campus. Preference will be given to those below 60 years of age.
