A video of the program has surfaced, in which many tribal men and women are seen sitting on the floor. Some people are also seen coming out protesting against this. A man is also seen saying, “He spent Rs 3 lakh on this event, instead he could have built three houses for tribal families.” Another tribal man said, “You have brought us here saying this That we will be rewarded and you are treating us like this? This is humiliating.”
Governor gave notice to officials
After the video of people sitting on the floor went viral, the tribal welfare department that organized the event was held guilty of insulting the tribals. People on social media are criticizing this incident and calling it “lack of social justice”. Governor Soundararajan said that as soon as he came to know that there were no chairs for the tribals to sit, he immediately asked for chairs to be arranged. He has also issued a notice to the concerned authorities in this matter. Officials say that they had made proper seating arrangements. The Governor said that he believes that it is not right for even one person to be insulted. He regrets this. This should not have happened.
