Cheriyala, 18 November (Hindustan Reporter). BRS leader and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) said let’s look at what BRS has done for ten years. People should not panic when elections come, but only by voting thoughtfully is there a possibility of a responsible and accountable government. He said that the opposition is turning a blind eye to the development of Telangana state. KCR was addressing a public meeting in Cheriyala assembly constituency of Warangal district today.
Chandrashekhar Rao said that the vote to change the state constitution should be cast wisely. It was Congress that kept Telangana merged with Andhra for 58 years. We won Telangana (Telangana elections) after a lot of struggle. We should remember how Telangana was ten years ago. Recently there was drought everywhere in Telangana. There was a lot of problem of irrigation water, drinking water and electricity.
Strongly criticizing Congress, he said that do not lie for votes. Are they giving Rs 2000 pension anywhere in the states where Congress is in power? Talking about Telangana, Congress leaders are saying that they will give a pension of Rs 4 thousand. If Bharat Rashtra Samiti wins again… then we will gradually increase the pension to Rs 5,000.
The Chief Minister said, haven’t we seen how many promises Congress made and how many ignored in 50 years? Congress has created such a situation that farmers are committing suicide. We have taken some decisions to stabilize agriculture in Telangana. We supplied water for irrigation. We provide electricity 24 hours a day. We are giving insurance of Rs 5 lakh to the farmers. We are purchasing all the crops grown by farmers in rural areas. Now we are seeing smiles on the faces of farmers.
The Chief Minister has requested that if the governance system remains like this for the next ten years, all the farmers will be benefited. As wealth increases, welfare schemes are increasing. If Congress wins, the existing relationship with farmers will also end. People should keep all these things in mind.
The Chief Minister said that during 50 years of rule, Congress made Telangana a drought area. Even in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state Gujarat, there is no electricity available 24 hours.
The Chief Minister said that Congress and BJP are afraid of me. They are trying to keep it limited to the state only. They fear that if I win in the state, I will go to Maharashtra, that is why BJP and Congress united to defeat me. Congress people say that 3 hours of electricity is enough for the farmers. Today, Telangana is a state that produces more than 30 lakh tonnes of food grains, more than Punjab.
Referring to various development works in the assembly constituency, he said that the Mallansagar project is filled with 50 TMCs. We have sanctioned Rs 50 crore for Tapachapalli reservoir. Pipeline work is going on. If this is done then drought will not enter the Cheryala area and greenery will develop the area.
