Bollywood film maker Farah Ali Khan, who is one of the biggest names in film making, had to face many challenges on the way to success. He has come a long way from the circumstances of arranging money for his father’s funeral to becoming a big name in the industry today. Farah Khan Kunder, born on January 9, 1965, who is famous for choreographing more than a hundred songs in more than 80 films, has also won the National Film Award for Best Choreography. Apart from this, he has also won 6 Filmfare for his work.
Farah Khan’s father Kamran Khan was a stuntman before becoming a director, actor and producer of B-grade films. Talking about Farah, in 2004 she debuted with the film ‘Main Hoon Na’ starring Shahrukh Khan and Sushmita Sen in lead roles. Before trying her luck in direction, she was a choreographer. The film received positive response upon its release and became the second highest grossing Indian film of the year. This was Farah Khan’s first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Director. With this, she became the second female director to receive a nomination in this category.
Farah Khan’s journey has never been easy. When she appeared on Manish Paul’s podcast, she talked about her father’s death and revealed that when he died, he left only Rs 30 in her pocket. He said, “The night before he had played cards and he had only Rs 30 in his pocket which he had won in the game. Sajid had also shared this story on Bigg Boss. In which it was told how he had to collect money from different places to arrange the funeral of his father.
Talking about his financial constraints, he said, “At one time our financial condition became so bad that we could not even get the lock on our front door repaired. So my mother used to put a stone below to keep it closed.”
Farah Khan now lives a luxurious life. According to reports, he has about 12 cars, which include two of the most expensive Porsche cars. He also has a bungalow in Mumbai.
