New Delhi. There is turmoil within the Pakistan Cricket Board after being out of the World Cup 2023. There is a queue of veterans resigning one after another. First came the resignation of Chief Selector Inzamam Ul Haq. After that came the resignation of the director, head coach and then the captain. Now the line of appointments has started and responsibilities are being given to different stalwarts within the Pakistan cricket team and board. First, Mohammad Hafeez was made the director and coach. Now a veteran has been appointed Chief Selector.
Pakistan Cricket shared a video on its official X handle on Friday evening in which information was received about making Wahab Riaz the Chief Selector of Pakistan. In this video, Wahab Riaz himself is seen thanking the Pakistan Cricket Board for giving him this responsibility. He thanked PCB and Zaka Ashraf. He said that he will try his best to take the team forward in the same manner as is required in the modern day.
Wahab Riaz issued a special message for his players in this video. He said that, we have to take our domestic cricket forward. We have to focus there and pay attention to the performance of the players there. He also said that he will improve the level of communication within the team. She talks to everyone and any boy can come and talk to her about anything. It is noteworthy that recently Wahab had taken retirement from Pakistan cricket team. He has also been an important part of the team in the 2011, 2015 and 2019 World Cups.
Wahab Riaz made his debut for Pakistan cricket team in ODI format in 2008. He remained in international cricket for a long time but his in-and-out trend continued. This is why in his career spanning over 10 years, he played only 27 Tests, 91 ODIs and 36 T20 Internationals. He took 83 wickets in Tests, 120 in ODIs and 34 wickets in T20 Internationals. Now it has to be seen whether his tenure as a fast bowler was both good and bad. Now as the Chief Selector, will he be able to improve the condition of Pakistan cricket team or not?
