Hoshiarpur, November 18: A huge gathering of people attended the ‘Vikas Kranti’ rally of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here today, testifying to the immense support given to the public-friendly and development-oriented schemes of the state government.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating/laying the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs 867 crore as a gift to the people of Hoshiarpur, the Chief Minister said that this is a historic occasion when the fortunes of the entire Kandi region is changing. He said that this project will promote the development of this area and bring prosperity in the lives of people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that previous governments have been ignoring this area, but his government is committed to the all-round development of this area.
The Chief Minister described Arvind Kejriwal as a great and revolutionary leader who has dared to bring the common man to the center stage of Indian politics. He said that this is neither a political rally nor a show of strength, but this gathering is completely dedicated to the development of Hoshiarpur. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that today unmatched development is being seen in every corner of the state and this is the result of the Aam Aadmi government’s rule of only 18 months.
The Chief Minister said that now a complete transformation is being seen in hospitals and schools and new medical colleges are being built for the welfare of the common man. He said that these decisions are being taken only by those people who are aware of the problems of the people at the ground level. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the traditional political parties have brought the state to the brink of ruin and now they have shamelessly started singing the tune of morality.
The Chief Minister said that Sukhbir Badal and his associates have sold the interests of the state, ruined the lives of the common man and now they are insulting the youth of Punjab by calling Aam Aadmi Party a party of malangs. He said that the party has intellectual leaders who have studied in premier institutions at national and international level and all these leaders have proved their mettle in their respective fields before coming into politics. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this leader, who does not even know how to pronounce the basic words of Punjabi, is making baseless comments about the state and its people.
The Chief Minister predicted that people are so fed up with these dictatorial leaders that they have decided to give all the 13 seats in the state and one seat in Chandigarh to AAP in the coming general elections. He said that in the coming Lok Sabha elections the figure will be 13-0 where 13 will be in favor of ‘AAP’ and the accounts of the remaining parties will not even be opened. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he is fully prepared to file any defamation case against him by the Akali Dal chief. He said that he would welcome this case to expose the misdeeds of the Badal family in front of the people.
The Chief Minister said that traditional parties are jealous of him because he belongs to an ordinary family and is working tirelessly to ensure the welfare of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders always believed that they had the divine right to rule, due to which they could not digest how a common man was running the government so efficiently. He said that these leaders have fooled people for a long time but now people will not be influenced by their misleading propaganda.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of happiness that people have completely rejected the leaders who live in palaces or big houses and are known by the names of ‘Kaka Ji’ and ‘Biba Ji’. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this opportunistic leader never stood with the people but he always supported those who were beneficial for his personal interests. He said that these leaders have always given priority to their own interests rather than the interests of the state and its people.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that he is a ‘master of idioms’ who has fooled people during his entire tenure. He reminded the people that Modi had promised to give Rs 15 lakh in every account but till now people have had to bear a lot of loss due to his unplanned policies. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that leave aside Rs 15 lakh, the people of Gurdaspur, the Lok Sabha constituency adjoining Hoshiarpur, are waiting to see the face of their Member of Parliament Sunny Deol, who was elected on BJP ticket from this seat in 2019.
The Chief Minister said that both BJP and Congress have fooled the general public since independence. He said that these parties have not done any concrete work for the welfare of the people and have only enjoyed power. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people will never forgive these parties for their bad deeds and will teach them a more appropriate lesson in the coming elections.
The Chief Minister regretted that in the 75 years of independence, only three medical colleges were opened in the state, whereas now five more medical colleges will be opened in the state in the coming one year. He said that in the coming years there will be a medical college in every district of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that with this, standard treatment and medical education will be provided to the people of the state.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government is opening eight hi-tech centers to train students for competitive examinations. Bhagwant Mann said that this center will provide training to the youth. P.S. Will provide standard training to pass C.E. examination and hold prestigious positions in the state and country. He said that the aim of the state government is to ensure service by placing the youth in high positions.
The Chief Minister reiterated that by January 26, all hospitals in the state up to tehsil and district levels will be equipped with X-ray machines. He said that by the upcoming Republic Day, this facility will be made available in all the hospitals along with the operators. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that to stop the looting of people, all the medicines prescribed by the doctors will also be available in the hospital.
During this, while addressing the gathering, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sought full cooperation from the people to support the Bhagwant Mann government. He said that the need of the hour is to maintain the pace of development and prosperity in the state. Arvind Kejriwal said that exemplary efforts are being made by the Punjab government for the welfare of every section of the society.
The Delhi Chief Minister reminded the people that after assuming office, neither former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal nor Captain Amarinder Singh ever bothered to visit Hoshiarpur. He said that Union Minister of State Som Prakash also never looked at this area after becoming a Member of Parliament from Hoshiarpur. Arvind Kejriwal said that after assuming the post of Chief Minister of Punjab, he is continuously visiting this area to promote the development of this area.
The Delhi Chief Minister said that Punjab is touching new heights in every field, which is a record in itself. He said that Punjab has got the best Chief Minister ever in Bhagwant Singh Mann because he is working tirelessly for the welfare of every section of the society. Arvind Kejriwal said that Punjab is moving rapidly on the path of development in every field, which is an unmatched achievement.
The Delhi Chief Minister praised the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led state government for converting government schools into Schools of Eminence. He said that no private school can compete with these government schools. He further said that the face of all government schools will be changed in the same way. Arvind Kejriwal said that during the last 18 months, the Bhagwant Singh Mann led government has brought a major revolution in every sector in the state whereas none of the previous governments ever thought of this.
The Delhi Chief Minister said that the Punjab government will soon start providing citizen-centric services to the doorsteps of the people. He said that providing these services at people’s doorstep will help them in getting their administrative work done easily. Arvind Kejriwal said that the objective of the state government is to ensure that people do not face any difficulty in availing citizen-centric services.
