When asked about making India a part of APEC, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, ‘We have not taken any such decision nor have there been any discussions regarding this. Today’s meeting was around sustainability and climate action and it was all about working together on how we can make the world a better place to live in and leave a better future for our children and obviously There was a lot of talk about what different nations are doing, what needs to be done. It was acknowledged that we all needed to be more active. India’s own contribution in the context of the LIFE Mission, which we discussed and raised at the forum, was raised in the context of the recognition that sustainable consumption must be central to our efforts to reduce emissions and reduce waste. It was a very engaging dialogue and clearly reflected the collective wisdom of all the leaders in the room to work as friends, as partners, and towards finding a faster path to a sustainable world.
On the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of APEC, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, ‘… I would not like to comment on any conversation or discussion between the US and China, but I I can certainly see that all countries of the world are deeply impressed by Prime Minister Modi’s call in the context of attempting to end various conflicts around the world by using dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.
On his visit to Tesla’s manufacturing facility in Fremont, California, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, “The purpose of my visit was clear, I was looking to connect with high quality, senior level Indian talent who Contributing to Tesla’s success story and I was also very curious to see the electric vehicle factory as we are also contributing rapidly now. Through parts and components in the manufacturing of electric vehicles. Last year, India exported goods worth about one billion dollars. This year, India’s exports to Tesla will almost double to $1.9 billion. India is producing really high quality products, spare parts, auto components, which I am sure will help us expand our electric auto ecosystem
