The One Day World Cup 2023 (CWC 2023) being played in India is in its last phase and the final match of the tournament is to be played on November 19. Earlier, ICC has selected some of the players who have performed brilliantly so far as contenders for the ‘Player of the Tournament Award’. The tournament has seen tremendous excitement so far and out of the 10 teams participating in it, India and Australia have made it to the finals. Before the final match, ICC selected a total of 9 players as contenders for its special award, which includes some excellent batsmen and some tremendous bowlers.
These 9 players have been selected from the four teams playing the semi-finals. India, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia had made it to the semi-finals, in which New Zealand was defeated in the first semi-final and South Africa was defeated in the second semi-final.
ICC has selected maximum 4 players from the Indian team, which include the names of Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, captain Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell have been selected for Australia, Rachin Ravindra and Darryl Mitchell for New Zealand, while Quinton de Kock has been selected for South Africa.
