PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate Ram temple
On August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple’ in Ayodhya. The construction work of the temple is expected to be completed by the end of this year and its consecration ceremony is scheduled for January 22 next year. The Trust has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its inauguration. Opposition parties are also protesting regarding this, who say that not only PM Modi has the right on the inauguration ceremony of the temple, but everyone has the right.
Ayodhya Ram temple decision
On November 9, 2019, a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court unanimously gave its verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case. The court had ordered the Center to form a trust to build the Ram Mandir temple in Ayodhya and allot five acres of land to the Muslim side at an alternative location to build the mosque. In December 1992, the 16th century Mughal-era Babri Masjid, which is considered by a large section to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, was demolished.
