Lifestyle News Desk,You might have eaten brinjal bharta and chapati in dinner, but now you must try potato bharta instead. The recipe of Aloo Bharta is very simple and easy. You do not need to roast potatoes for this recipe. To make potato bharta, you just have to fry some spices and mix them with potatoes.
Ingredients include-
Potato – 500 grams (boiled)
Dry mango powder – 1 tsp
Gram masala powder – 1 tsp
Chaat masala powder – 1 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Green chillies – 2 to 3 finely chopped
Green Coriander – 2 tbsp finely chopped
Dry red chilli – 2 to 3
Cumin – 1 tsp
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Whole coriander – 2 teaspoons
Onion – 2 medium sized chopped into thin pieces
Asafoetida – a pinch
Oil – 1/4 cup
Potato filling recipe
First of all, add cumin, whole coriander, dry red chilli and black pepper in a pan and fry till the aroma comes out. Now keep these spices in a plate to cool. Meanwhile mash the boiled potatoes. Do not mash it very finely, leave some pieces. Now take the cooled spices and grind them in the mixer, and add this powder to the mashed potatoes.
After this you have to mix garam masala powder, dry mango powder, chaat masala powder, salt as per taste, green chilli and green coriander well. After this, put some oil in a pan and heat it. Add cumin and asafoetida together and cook for some time. Now add onion to the pan and fry until it becomes light golden. Add the potato mixture you have prepared and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
