Mirzapur. A joint team of police and SOG arrested a cattle smuggler carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 from Rajgarh area after an encounter on Saturday.
According to the police, Ajit Paswan, son of Satya Narayan Paswan, resident of Achor Lasda village under Robertsganj police station area of Sonbhadra district, used to smuggle animals. A reward of Rs 50 thousand was announced on the youth on the charge of animal smuggling. The police was searching for it for many days. Finally, after the encounter on Saturday, the prize cattle smuggler was caught by the police. The accused was shot in the leg in the encounter. He has been admitted to the divisional hospital for treatment under police custody.
A pistol, motorcycle, mobile and Rs 3160 in cash have been recovered from the arrested accused. Rajgarh police station in-charge Rana Pratap Singh Yadav said that a case of animal smuggling has already been registered against the arrested prize cattle smuggler at Rajgarh police station. Police is busy in action.
