Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has shared a video on the micro-blogging site ‘X’ in which Congress MLA Selvaperunthagai, on the floor of the assembly, infers to CBI, ED, and IT officials as Dogs that enter ministers’ houses without permission. However, Assembly Speaker Appavu was seen objecting to his comments and said his remarks would be ‘expunged’.
“Withdrawing general consent given to the CBI, roughing up IT officials & inferring govt officials as Dogs is only an outcome of fear of being nabbed for exploiting powers for corrupt means,” Annamalai said.

While speaking in the special assembly session convened on Saturday to re-enact 10 Bills that were rejected by Governor RN Ravi, the Congress floor leader was referring central agencies as ‘intruding dogs’ following the series of raids conducted by them on Tamil Nadu ministers including Senthil Balaji, K Ponmudy and others in the recent past.
Governor acts against constitution despite SC warning, charges Congress MLA
Selvaperunthagai also accused the Governor of acting against the Constitution and demanded his resignation, If not, the Union Government should recall the Governor immediately.
“Since RN Ravi took office as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, he has been continuously disrupting the public welfare activities of the Tamil Nadu Government elected by the majority of the people. Tamil Nadu does not need a governor who does not care about Tamil Nadu and the people of this state. A governor who acts against the Constitution should immediately resign. If not, the Union Government should recall the Governor,” the Congress legislator said.
Quoting the Supreme Court’s recent observations on Tamil Nadu Governor over delaying in approving Bills, Selvaperunthagai said: “Even after the Supreme Court has examined the Constitution and clearly stated about the powers of the Governor, the Governor is acting arbitrarily in spite of it all.”
