Five people were killed and five others injured when their car collided with a roadside tree while returning home from a wedding ceremony in Jharkhand’s Giridih district.
Five people were killed and five others, including two children, were injured when their car collided with a roadside tree while returning home from a wedding in Jharkhand’s Giridih district early Saturday, police said. He said that the victims were traveling in a Scorpio car after having dinner at a wedding in Tikodih, Giridih, when the accident occurred at around 3 am near Baghmara village in the district. The collision was so strong that the car was completely damaged.
Local people reached the spot and tried to save the five people in the car. But all of them died on the spot. Giridih Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anil Singh said that the people in the car had come from Thoria village to Tikodih to attend a wedding. He told news agency PTI, “Five people died on the spot and the remaining five were admitted to the hospital. The driver might have taken a nap.” The police sent their bodies for post-mortem
