-Only four or five will be able to become general managers

It is ironical that the repeat interviews of the officers who were to become General Managers from Additional General Managers on 25 June 2023 will be held for the third time on 20,21,22 November in Delhi. Although 121 Additional General Managers from the entire company are contenders for this post, only 14 from the Bhopal unit will participate in the interview. It is also important to mention here that earlier 70 Additional General Managers had participated in the interview from Bhopal Unit, out of which 14 Additional General Managers were selected. After this, this interview is being repeated and why this is happening has become a topic of discussion among the contenders for this post.
It is being told that the contenders for the post of Additional General Manager to General Manager of Bhopal Unit are Rambhau Patil, Raj Kumar Jain, G Majumdar, Dr. P Sachdev, MG Thakur, Alok Sengar, Pradeep Kumar Nayak, Anshuman Dixit, Hemram Patel, Meeta Uttamchandani, Akash Dani, RK Aggarwal, SK Biswas, Vivek Gupta have been included. Who among these will become the General Manager will be known only after the interview.
These interviews are being conducted again after four months. Meanwhile, Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL, Dr. Nalin Singhal has retired and the new Chairman and MD KS Murthy has been made in his place. Krishna Kumar Thakur has become the Director Human Resources. Perhaps this could be the reason why these interviews have been repeated. But some kind of speculation is being made at the administrative level regarding the interviews being delayed by four months. However, AGM level officers, who were waiting for promotion for a long time in BHEL, have been promoted to the post of GM under PRP before retirement. The list for promotion to the post of GM has been released from Delhi Corporate AGM.
Interview with General Manager for ED post also in limbo
The interviews of the contenders for the post of General Manager to Executive of Bharatiya Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), which were to be held on 1st and 2nd August 2024 in Delhi Corporate, were also stopped. Interviews are included for the post of four General Managers of Bhopal, ED. Actually, 57 General Managers are in the queue to become Executive Directors for this post. Actually, there were 57 General Manager ED interview contenders in the company. Four general managers from Bhopal were called for interview. These include General Managers BK Singh, Vipul Aggarwal, AK Vehra and Motilal Rawat. SM Ramanathan of Trichy Unit, who was in Bhopal Unit, Sanjay Goyal of Delhi Corporate, Vipin Minocha and Praveesh Varshney of Jhansi Unit, Rupesh Tailang of Jagdishpur Unit, Rahul Bansal of Delhi Corporate are also said to be strong contenders for the post of ED. If sources are to be believed, it is almost certain that 20 general managers will be promoted to this post. Out of these, the company has 10 General Manager Incharge and 10 General Manager Head already working in the units. In such a situation, he can be made executive director after promotion. These can show the way out to those retiring in a short time. Only after this the number of other general managers can be called. Experts say that the company has to fill only 20 posts of executive directors for this post. In such a situation, if 10 GMIs and 10 GM heads are promoted to the post of ED, then only on 10 posts the company can get promotion to General Manager.
