After Pakistan’s poor performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, allegations are being made every day on the Pakistan cricket team. Babar Azam suddenly left the captaincy of the team in all three formats as soon as he reached Pakistan after being eliminated from the World Cup. After this, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced two new captains for the T20 and Test teams. However, the PCB is yet to name a captain for the ODI team. Meanwhile, the new captain of the Pakistan cricket team got injured before taking over the captaincy of the team and was badly injured.
Pakistan’s new captain injured
Pakistan’s new Test captain Shan Masood has escaped injury after colliding with teammate Sarfraz Ahmed during a home match, which could jeopardize his availability for the upcoming tour of Australia next month. The incident took place during the List-A semi-final match between Karachi and Multan at the Rawalpindi Stadium on Friday. Shaan and Sarfaraz, playing from Karachi, ran to catch from opposite sides near mid-off and the two collided.
A scan is done after the injury
Masood could not get up immediately after this. Due to the impact of the collision, Sarfaraz also dropped the catch of the batsman Soheb Maqsood. Masood came off the field with the help of support staff and meanwhile the match was stopped for a while. A Karachi team official said initial scans did not reveal any serious injury to the ankle. Shan scored 41 runs off just 38 balls during Karachi’s innings. The Pakistan Cricket Board has named Shan as the Test captain for the current 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship cycle. However, the team has not been announced yet. This may be announced soon.
