Varanasi. On Saturday, Varanasi Commissionerate Police got a big success when, on the information of an informer, the police arrested 5 members of the theft gang. According to the police, the members of the theft gang used to carry out theft incidents in Bihar and Varanasi. The thieves used to sell the stolen goods on the famous company OLX. The police team recovered many stolen items along with mobile phones and laptops worth about Rs 2.5 lakh from the thieves. The police took legal action against the five thieves arrested and sent them to jail.

While unveiling the incident of theft, DCP of Kashi Zone R.S. Gautam said that incidents of theft had taken place at two places in Ramnagar police station area recently. During the investigation of this incident, on the information of the informer, the thieves were detained from Chandmari Ground of Lohta police station area. After identifying the thieves, it was found that the body thieves used to commit theft incidents in Bihar and Varanasi and dozens of cases have been registered against them. A reward of Rs 25,000 each has been placed on the two thieves who committed the theft.

DCP said that the thieves have been identified as two rewarded criminals, Ishtiaq, son of Yusuf, resident of 15/275 Farooqui Nagar, Bajardiha, police station Bhelupur, Varanasi, age 32, who committed inter-state crimes and the other is Mohd. Sajid alias Mallu, son of Mohd. Shaheed alias Shaid alias Shahid, resident of N 15/275 Farooqui Nagar Bajardiha. It has been named as Bhelupur.
