New Delhi. Narendra Modi is still the first choice for the post of Prime Minister even after being in power for 9 years. The survey revealed that more than 48 per cent people feel that Modi is the most suitable candidate for the post of PM. After Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been supported by 18 per cent people. Although the popularity of the PM has declined significantly in the last 5 years.
In 2019, 60.76 percent people considered Narendra Modi as the first choice for the post of PM, which further increased to 62.21 percent in the year 2020. In 2022, 50.77 percent people had supported him for the post of PM, which has further reduced in 2023.
This has been revealed in the survey conducted by CVoter on the completion of nine years of the BJP-led government. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP registered a historic victory on 282 seats. After this Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India on 26 May 2014.
The survey said that 48.68 per cent people have named Modi as their first choice as the most suitable candidate for the post of Prime Minister, followed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at 18.12 per cent.
As per the survey, 5.43 per cent people have preferred Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as the most suitable candidate for the post of PM. After this Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal 4.96 percent and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee 2.33 percent want to see PM.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has got the support of only 1.09 per cent people. However, surveys have shown that Narendra Modi’s popularity has declined in the last five years.
On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi’s popularity has increased in the last five years. In 2019, 16.78 per cent saw him as the most suitable candidate for the post of PM. In the latest survey, 18 percent people have supported Rahul Gandhi for the top post.
