Jaipur, May 26 (IANS). BJP’s ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) in Haryana will now contest elections in Rajasthan in alliance with it. JJP national president Ajay Singh Chautala has given this information on Friday.
Chautala, who came to Jaipur on Friday for the expansion of his party, said that talks are going on at the national level with BJP national president JP Nadda.
He said that we will contest on those seats in Rajasthan where BJP is weak. In Rajasthan BJP is weak on 20 to 25 seats.
JJP has entered Rajasthan ahead of the assembly elections and has formally formed its team in the state. Prithvi Meel will be the state president of the party in Rajasthan, while Prateek Mahariya, nephew of BJP leader Subhash Mahariya, has been made the president of Yuva Morcha.
Chautala said that the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot has failed on every front. Now the people of the state are looking towards the third option. Whenever we have contested elections, people have reposed faith in us. He said that his party would contest on several seats including Fatehpur, Suratgarh, Kotputli, Nohar, Bhadra and Lunkaransar.
On JJP being seen as an alternative to RLP’s Hanuman Beniwal, Chautala asked whether he is still in a position to win.
On the question of alliance, the newly appointed state president Meel said that it is a matter of election time.
