Dholpur. On Monday, the district police got a big success under the campaign to eliminate the dacoits active in Chambal’s Behad. In the Saver Pali area of the district, in an encounter with the infamous dacoit Keshav Gurjar, the police have arrested the dacoit Keshav Gurjar, with a reward of about 1.25 lakh. During the encounter, dacoit Keshav Gurjar was shot in the leg and the police admitted him to the district hospital in Dholpur for treatment.
Bharatpur Range IG Gaurav Srivastava said that after the increase in the activities of bandit Keshav Gurjar in the rugged area of Chambal, bandit Keshav was the main target for the police. On Sunday night, the police had received information about Dasyu Keshav Gurjar hiding in Saver Pali area of Dhaulpur district. On this information, police, QRT and DST teams of several police stations under the leadership of Dholpur District Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh cordoned off the area. Despite the low visibility due to rain in Chambal’s Behad, the police conducted a search operation in Behad throughout the night. Police had an encounter with Dasyu Keshav in the early hours of Monday. In the encounter that lasted for about four hours, dacoit Keshav Gurjar was shot in the leg and the police caught him. The police have admitted dacoit Keshav Gurjar to the district hospital in Dholpur, where he is undergoing treatment. Srivastava said that there was no injury or damage to the police or any civilian in the encounter. Bullet proof jackets of some police personnel have been set on fire.
District Superintendent of Police, Dhaulpur, Dharmendra Singh said that a pistol and cartridges have been recovered from the possession of dacoit Keshav Gurjar. Notorious dacoit Keshav Gurjar is on the first position in the list of top ten dacoits active in Chambal’s ravines in Dholpur district. A reward of Rs one lakh 20 thousand has been declared on the arrest of Keshav Gurjar, a resident of Shahpur village under Basai Dang police station area of Bari subdivision of Dhaulpur district. These include a reward of Rs 50,000 from the Inspector General of Police of Agra Zone, Rs 50,000 from the Additional Director General of Police Crime Branch of Rajasthan and Rs 15,000 from the Inspector General of Police, Chambal Zone, Gwalior. SP Singh said that there was information about the presence of three to four other miscreants along with Dasyu Keshav, who have fled from the spot. A search operation is being conducted by the police team in search of him in the ravines of Chambal.
Dasyu Keshav Gurjar was absconding for the last ten years
Dasyu Keshav Gurjar, active in Chambal’s Behad, was absconding for the last ten years. Not only this, there are more than three dozen serious cases registered against Dasyu Keshav Gurjar in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Tezzbuzz. Bandit Keshav Gurjar’s gang consists of about a dozen miscreants and Keshav’s gang operates in Rajasthan’s Dholpur and Karauli, Uttar Pradesh’s Agra and Tezzbuzz’s Morena districts. IG Bharatpur Range Gaurav Srivastava told that in the past months, due to the pressure of the Dholpur district police, the bandit Keshav Gurjar’s gang was divided into many parts. Along with this, many members had also changed their appearance.

The police has developed its own informer system in the rugged area and kept an eye on their movement by collecting information related to bandit gangs. In this special campaign, the police took action against many people who gave shelter to the dacoits and provided food and other material to them and sent them to jail. The police were equipped with state-of-the-art weapons for the dacoity eradication campaign. Monitoring was done with GPS and drone system to investigate the movement of bandits in the rugged.
Now Sheeshram and other bandits on target
