South Korea and the US military had conducted joint military exercises in the past days amid North Korea’s continuous missile tests. In protest, North Korea fired dozens of missiles and conducted warplane exercises last week. The situation had become such that South Korea and Japan had to ask their citizens to go to a safe place. South Korea’s Seoul military has been quoted as saying that North Korea has once again fired ballistic missiles, which has angered the governments of Japan and South Korea. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida instructed officials to devote maximum effort to collecting, analyzing information and providing prompt information to the public. Kishida has asked officials to ensure the safety of aircraft, ships and other assets. All possible precautionary measures including preparedness for emergent situations have been asked to be taken.
